Texas Endangered Species!

An "Endangered Species" is species that is at high-risk of becoming extinct in the future.
I believe that species are endangered because people are taking advantage of animals that don't deserve to be hurt or hunted by us. I also believe that endangered animals have the potential of becoming un-endangered if we work together to preserve them.

My endangered species is an Ocelot. They are the cutest cat I've ever seen!
They look like mini Leopards. They have become endangered over they years because their valuable skin that people hunt them for.
Their diet consists of meats because they are carnivores. They have an appetite for small rodents, snakes, birds and fish. Although they eat mainly things that are a lot smaller than them, they sometimes go for the bigger prize, such as young deer or larger rabbits.
There are about 80-120 left in the state of Texas. And they are only found in isolated parts of Texas, like the south-eastern part of the state.

In order to conserve them, we could protest against people who think that it's alright to poach them for their fur and other valuable things on their body. Also we could set a website for people to donate to, in order for a wildlife preservation center to set on up for Ocelots. Or we could hold a regular fundraiser to save money for a preservation center. These are all things to help conserve Ocelots!

This is a baby ocelot on a tree!                                          This is a full grown Ocelot!
